Many longtime Oz collectors might remember Oz Club member Irene Fisher. She had a fine Baum and Oz collection, she dabbled at selling used and rare books, but she was primarily a painter.
Her serious painting work was not Oz related. But almost every year in the 1970s and '80s Irene would paint miniature scenes of the Emerald City on small stones - usually only a couple inches across. Sometimes she donated them to the Oz Club's auctions. Sometimes she made them as gifts for friends.
One year she gave one to me - an especially tiny and detailed one. If you click on the image it will enlarge and you can see how very intricate the little painting is. I especially like the full moon behind one of the towers.
I realize this is a very small blog post today. However, it is also a very small rock.

The full moon is a nice touch. Loads of talent in such a small package.
