Avventure nel mondo di Oz

Oz has been popular in Italy for decades. There have been scores of translations of The Wizard of Oz, and a fair number of Baum's later Oz books, as well as The Sea Fairies, have been translated into Italian also.

In 2007 Eric Shanower's Oz graphic novels appeared in a very handsome two volume set called Avventure nel mondo di Oz. They were published by Free Books at Città di Castello, Italia. They are a bit smaller than the large-size American edition from IDW, each measuring 7.75" x 10.5".

One nice bonus with the Italian paperbacks is that they include all the "extras" from the IDW hardcover limited edition - half in volume one and half in volume two. Both volumes are still available at the Free Books website at about 15 Euros each. Despite the name of the Italian publisher, the books are NOT free.

Volume One contains The Enchanted Apples of Oz, The Secret Island of Oz, and The Ice King of Oz and a dozen or so pages of cool extras. You can check it out at this link:

Volume Two contains The Forgotten Forest of Oz and The Blue Witch of Oz and a good deal more extras to make up for the fact that it has only two stories. You can check it out at this link:

Now, if you prefer to stick to the good old American edition, that's fine, too! However, the large-size paperback from IDW (which is available here on our website) is being put out of print and we only have about 20 copies left in stock. So if you've been delaying your purchase, I wouldn't delay much longer.

Eric Shanower's Oz graphic novels have recently been issued by IDW as two smaller trade paperbacks called Little Adventures in Oz which we also have in stock. Click here for Book One and click here for Book Two.

So if you like Ozzy foreign editions or have a desire to journey across the Deserto della Morte to practice your Italian with La Strega Blu di Oz and Il Re dei Ghiacci di Oz, go check out the Free Books site!

If you want them in English, come visit your friends at Hungry Tiger Press!

Ciao!
